Quality and outcomes framework (QOF) statistics
QOF was a system to remunerate general practices for providing good quality care to their patients, and to help fund work to further improve the quality of health care delivered. It was a fundamental part of the general medical services (GMS) contract, introduced on 1 April 2004.
This bulletin presents QOF achievement data and exception reporting statistics at GP Federation, LCG and Northern Ireland levels.
Accompanying data files present both achievement data and exception reporting data at general practice level; as well as GP Federation, LCG and Northern Ireland levels. An interactive tool is also available.
Published alongside the bulletin, data files and interactive tool are quality documents and QOF User Guidance Notes.
Current publication
The Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) has now been replaced by the Clinical Care Domain within the Northern Ireland Contract Assurance Framework (NICAF), a key feature of the 2024/25 GMS Contract. Achievement reporting against the QOF indicators has therefore ceased. In turn, the annual QOF achievement and exception reporting publication has been discontinued and latest data available relates to 2022/23.
